Airplane Museum

Airplane Museum
We weren't to surprised to find out that Beck loved this place. I've never seen him so excited. He gets super excited to see one airplane flying by in the sky. But there was an airplane every where he looked. We were surprised that he knew the difference between a helicopter and an airplane. I don't know why we were so surprised, cause he's so smart. He'd say "Copter" for helicopter and "awe-pane" for airplane. It was so cute to see him so happy and excited.

I think Beck thought this was a real person. He kept saying "Hewo guy, how you?" Ha! Ha! He didn't like that the guy just stood there and said nothing. He walked away from him and said "rude".

Beck thought he was pretty cool in this helicopter chair.

He had to touch every airplane he walked by.

It was such a hot day, but Beck was enjoying his self so much. We'll have to go back to the museum soon.

Beck's Surgery

Beck had to get surgery on July 11. Since he was born, he's had hydrocele. Hydrocele's are from the abdominal cavity and the pelvic cavity not closing off completely at birth. As a result of that, fluid from the abdominal cavity can get into the pelvic cavity and around the testicles. We were told at Beck's regular check ups that hydrocele goes away usually when they reach a year old. Beck turned one and they didn't go away. So they decided to do an ultrasound to find out exactly what was going on. They found that the pelvic cavity had closed off, but all of the fluid was stuck. The fluid wasn't supposed to be there. It made poor little Beck look like he had water balloons for testicles. They said the only way to fix it was surgery. I was a bit reluctant when the doctor said that. The thought of Beck having to go through surgery scared me. But it ended up being a quick and easy surgery. We had to be at Primary Children's at 6:00AM Monday morning. We were the first appointment of the day, so we didn't have to wait very long to get started. Beck loved Primary Children's. There were toys for him to play with in every room.

We were taken to an exam room where the nurse made sure Beck was ready for surgery. We also were given miniature hospital clothes to put Beck in. They looked so cute on him. On our way out to the surgery waiting room, the nurse asked Beck if he wanted a wagon ride. He just looked at her and said "No". He just wanted to be a BIG boy and walk.

Over in the waiting room there were so many toys. He had fun. His favorite toy was this bright red car.
The anesthesiologist and Doctor came over and introduced themselves. Beck's new thing now is shaking peoples' hand and saying "How you". So that's what he did. He shook both of their hands and said "How you". The anesthesiologist told Beck to give mom and dad a kiss and a hug, and he said "See you in an hour", and took Beck to get ready for surgery. It was a sad feeling, but the surgery was done in no time. After an hour had past, a nurse came out to the waiting room and said "They're all finished, we can only take one of you back to see Beck". I went, of coarse. When I went to the recovery room another nurse was holding him and he was crying. Kind of a 'I'm in pain' cry. It was so sad. The moment I took him from the nurse he stopped crying. It made me feel really good. The nurse said "If he could talk, he would have told us all off." I guess he was being obstinate, and giving them attitude. He's just like his mom. That's how I was after my C-section. Anyway... I held him while the nurse was doing post-op vitals. After he had maintained steady vitals, they moved him to a bigger recovery room. That's when they brought Tayler in.

Beck was so out of it, because the anesthetics were still in his system. He was so miserable. I hate seeing him like that. The doctor came in and told us how the surgery went. He said while doing the hydrocelectomy and fixing the adhesions on his penis, they found a hernia behind his hydrocele. That surprised me. Usually doctors can see those things on ultrasounds, but apparently Beck's doctor missed it. They made a 3 inch incision under his belly button to fix the hydrocele. The doctor said he'd be swollen and sore for about a month.

We were in the recovery room for about an hour and a half. We couldn't leave until we woke Beck up and had something to eat or drink. He'd get mad everytime we tried to wake him up. So we just let him sleep for a little while. I didn't mind holding him. He always insists on being a BIG boy and doing things himself. I never get to hold him like this. So I took advantage of it. I actually miss it, ALOT!

We finally got him to wake up and take a few sips of an orange slushie. It made him sick, and he almost threw up. He was dry heaving. The nurse said it was from the anesthetics, and that she'd give him some medicine for nausea. After that we got Beck dressed and headed home. He slept the whole way home, and for about 2 hours when we got home. When he woke up he acted like he never even got surgery. He wanted to run around and play. He was still a little bit dizzy, so I had to keep a close eye on him. Other than being a bit dizzy, he went back to his normal self. He doesn't even act phased by the fact that he has two owie's "down there". His medicine must be working really good. Other than a lot of swelling and bruising he's healing really well.

{SUMMERTIME}

I love summer time. I love all of the parades, carnivals and fireworks. I love laying out and swimming in the pool. I love family parties and BBQ's. I love vacations and camping. I love being busy every weekend, because there's always something going on in the summer time. Here's what we've been up to the last few weeks.

Roy Aquatics

Tayler had his work party here. He got 5 free wrist bands. So Me, Tayler, Brayden and Baylee all went to Roy Aquatics. Beck was free. Brody usually comes with us, but he's on his mission. So we had an extra wristband this year. Tayler forgot that Brody wouldn't be there when he asked for wristbands. It was kind of sad not having Brody there, cause he's been there the last 3 or 4 years. But we all had fun anyways.

Beck loved the Frog slide. He insisted (like always) that went down the slid all by himself. He loved it!!! Everytime he wanted to go down the slide again he's say "bibbit" (instead of "ribbit)

They served free cotton candy and slushies. Mmmm mmmm!

He had to be a BIG boy again.

4th of JULY...

4th of JULY...
The 4th of July is definitely my favorite holiday. Our weekend was so much fun! Busy, but fun! My family (The Mountisne's ) went camping up by Pine View Dam. It was nice to go "real" camping for a change. We usually go to the really nice camp grounds that have power and water hookups, nice bathrooms, and no privacy (cause the camp sites are so close together, and there's not very many trees). It was nice to have our own space in the woods. We had a site next to the river. It was super high, really cold and moving extremely fast. No one dared to go in it. We camped up there from Thursday-Saturday. Beck had lots of fun playing outside and getting dirty. His favorite thing was to go on walks. I think we must have gone on a walk an hour. He's a very active little boy. He definitely doesn't like to sit in one spot for to long. He thinks he can do everything by himself. Thank goodness we have a 'leash' for him. We went home on Sunday afternoon, because Tayler's parents just got back from Europe. So they bought pizza and had everyone come over and look at their pictures. We didn't get to look at all of them. We only made it through 1,000 pictures. (Ha Ha) The next day we went to the Farr West parade. Beck has become a pro at catching the candy. He filled up half a grocery bag. Pretty good for a 1 year old. We all went Miniature golfing at Toad's after the parade. Beck had fun picking up, and moving everyone's golf balls. They had Beck sized golf clubs. It was the cutest thing watching Beck try to golf. My favorite thing about the 4th is the dancing and fireworks up at Huntsville Park. I love it! So while Tayler and Beck took a nap, I zipped up to Huntsville for a few hours with my family. We watched some bands play, walked around and looked at all of the fun booths, and watched a hypnotist show. It was all so fun!!! I zipped back down to Farr West just in time for Tayler's sister's BBQ to start. We ate lots of yummy food, and then went swimming in her pool. Beck had so much fun playing with all of his cousins. We went to the Farr West park to watch the fireworks. I've been going to Huntsville's fireworks for the longest time. They've set a high bar as far as fireworks go. But Farr West had some awesome fireworks. I was surprised. After fireworks we went to Tayler's sister's house and shot off a bunch of fireworks. I'm glad Utah decided to change the firework laws. They were all good fireworks too. Except for the one that tipped over and shot at everyone. Ha! Ha! It was a fun weekend!

Look how happy he is. Like a kid in a candy store.

This was taken on the ride home from Toad's. Beck was so tired. So he started to 'pretend' cry. I knew he was faking it cause I made a silly face at him and he laughed SO hard. Then he'd go back to 'pretend' crying until I made a face at him again.

Heritage Days is in Syracuse (where I grew up). It was Beck's first time. This is him @ the parade.

Manti Pagent

Manti Pagent
We all went to the Manti Pagent this year. We actually went before Brody left on his mission. It was a fun last minute trip before Brody left.

Bye Brody... See you in 2 years.

Bye Brody... See you in 2 years.
Wow!!! What an emotional day. I never thought it would be this hard to send Brody out on his mission. It's probably one of the hardest things I've had to do. I know that this is where he needs to be. I'm so excited for him (and jealous). He will be serving in Auckland New Zealand. How did he get so lucky? You know how the saying goes, "It's not where you serve, but how". But he really lucked out. He gets to spend 2 years serving the Lord in one of the most beautiful places in the world. He's an amazing person, and he'll be an awesome missionary. I will miss him so much, but 2 years come sooner than we know it. Good Luck Brody!

What a handsome Missionary.

My brother Brody has been called to serve in the Auckland New Zealand Mission. He leaves June 22, 2011. These are just a few pictures I took of him...

Beck wasn't very interested in the lambs. He was interested in everything else he saw. This is him yelling "Airplane".

This is the only cute picture Beck took with the lambs.

Beck just chillin with his (2nd) cousin Crew.

The first thing Beck noticed when we walked up to the horse was its nose. And what does Beck do when he see's a nose? He sticks his finger up it. Yep, Beck put his finger in a horse nose. Gross

This ride was so cute. It's a miniature Pirate Ship that spins around in a circle as it moves back and forth along a track. It actually feels like your bobbing up and down as if you were on a real ship. Anyways... Beck would hold his breath until his face turned bright red. In fact I don't think he would have breathed the entire ride unless I poked his belly and reminded him to breathe. It tickled his tummy so bad.

In this picture we're on the Ferris Wheel. I'm not scared of heights or anything , but this ride scared me so bad! We got stopped at the top for a little while, and Beck started to get anxious. He's not very good at sitting in one spot for a while. He kept trying to lean over the edge so he could see the cars. Now if you know Beck, you know that he is a strong little guy. He'd get so mad when I tried to pull him away from the edge that I had to have Tayler help me pull him, because he held on so tight. So we put him on the center pole and spun him around a little bit. That kept him quiet for a few seconds. I don't think I'll be taking him on this ride for a while.

The Octocpus. This is such a cute ride!

Bay's to short. Just kidding!

I spy... Beck and Tayler.

It wasn't cold. My mom's just a wimp!

I've got lots of CATCHING up to do...

Here's a brief look at what we've been up to this year...

Growing a GARDEN...

Growing a GARDEN...

Tayler wanted to plant a garden. So my mom let him do it in her backyard. It will be so fun to have a house, yard and garden of our own one day. But in the mean time helping my mom with her garden is fun too. Beck was watching Tayler from the window, and kept saying "help, Dad". So I took him over to the garden and he picked up a shovel and started helping. He didn't stop until Tayler was done. He's such a big helper. He was being silly too. He'd bonk his head with the shovel handle and say "Ouch" and fall to the ground and not get up until I came over to kiss him better. When Beck and Tayler were all done, Beck was pretty dirty. He looked at his hands and said "Ew mom, dirty". He doesn't like having dirty hands. He actually looked scared when he saw how dirty his hands were.

A day @ the ZOO

We thought it would be fun to take Beck to the zoo. He has this book that has all sorts of animals in it. He reads it more than once a day, and he knows most of the animals that are in it. He usually calls the animal by the sound they make, but he knows what a few of them are actually called. He loves to read. Especially his animal book. So we thought he would really enjoy seeing the real thing. And we were right.

When Beck saw the elephants he said "RAWR".

When we walked into the reptile house, Beck plugged his nose and said "Ew, Stinky". He was right.

I wish there were still real lions at the zoo. That's a bummer.

Daddy & Beck. I love these 2.

The giraffe isn't in the book he reads. So he didn't recognize it. He was so amazed by these animals.

He had fun playing at the Zoo's playground.

He wasn't sure what to think about this scary lookin thing.

This was my favorite!

Happy Easter

We had a good Easter this year. It was so fun taking Beck on Easter egg hunts. It was so cute seeing him running around with an Easter basket bigger than him. He would say "ball" every time he saw an Easter egg. He is so smart. When he'd pick up an egg, he'd open it up, eat the candy, and move to the next egg. The first Easter egg hunt Beck went to was at Tayler's grandma's house.

These are all of Beck's cousins on Tayler's side of the family.

See what I mean about the Easter basket?
The next day he went to another Easter Egg Hunt at Heritage Park. It's an assisted living where my aunt works. I love going to visit the old people. They are so cute! There were tons of eggs all over the place. In fact most of the kids had baskets over flowing with eggs, and there was still lots of eggs left on the ground. Some of the eggs even had money in them. As the kids ran to pick up the eggs, the cute elderly people were on the side cheering them on. It's good for the residents at assisted living homes to have people come and visit them. I worked in an assisted living, and so many of them don't have family, and are so lonely. It was a fun experience!

I really enjoy shopping for Easter outfits. This year I wanted to get Me, Tayler and Beck outfits that coordinated so we could get family pictures. But it didn't work out the way I wanted. I was still fun finding Beck's cute outfit though. Ha Ha! I bought Tayler and Beck matching ties. Tayler was like "people who have matching outfits get made fun of. I'm not wearing this". He worries WAY too much!!!

Family Vacation

We all decided that we were in need of a family vacation. Mostly because we wanted to take a small vacation before my brother left on his mission, but we also needed a break from life. I need a break every once in a while. Everything was fun, except for the 14 hour drive. Whoever decided that was a good idea needs a swift kick in the butt. That was terrible. I think I whined more than Beck did. I wish I could say that it saved us money, but it didn't. Gas these days is so expensive, it would have been cheaper for us to fly. When we finally got to California, we all went to Huntington Beach and relaxed the rest of the day. It was so nice. The beach is so beautiful and relaxing. It's my dream one day to live somewhere by the beach. Anyway... To save money, we decided to go out on a limb and stay in someone's house for the week instead of staying in a hotel. We found a lady that was renting part of her house for $35 a night. It saved us about $500, cause hotels were going for about $110 per night. It was kind of awkward staying in some strange lady's house, but she was really nice and helpful. When going on vacation, I recommend finding a place to stay that has a kitchen. We went grocery shopping when we got to California. We had cereal every morning, and we packed a lunch whenever we went somewhere. Everyone knows that food can get expensive, and no one wants to eat McDonalds everyday. So buying groceries is the way to go. Anyway... When we were done at the beach we all went to our 'hotel' and crashed, cause we were all tired from driving through the night. The next day we went to SeaWorld.

I was so excited that Beck got to go on most of the rides. I was a little worried that me and Beck were gonna have to sit out most of the time. He really enjoyed all of the rides he got to go on. The fast ones he'd say "Whoa mom whoa", and then he'd laugh. On one of the rides (I don't remember which one) he saw everyone else putting their hands up, so he put his hands up. It was cute.

In line for the Pirates ride.

Beck entertained himself while we were standing in the line. He'd play in the dirt, flirt with little girls that were in line behind us, and shoot things with the Buzz Lightyear gun we bought him. Thank goodness we had his leash. He tried to escape a lot too. But he never wanted to be held. He's just a big boy.

Me & Beck on Triton's Carousel

Laguna Beach

The beach is my favorite place to be. I don't care where we are, if there's a beach around I'm happy. It's just so relaxing, and fun. Laguna Beach is one of my new favorite beaches in California. The water was beautiful, and the little city was so cute. Beck absolutely loved playing in the water. The water was pretty cold, but we all were having so much fun that non of us really payed attention to how cold the water was. Word of advise: Never turn your back on the waves. Beck insisted on being a big boy and walking in the water by himself. We were only in the water up to his knees, and I was holding his hand, of coarse. Well I turned around for a second, not realizing there was a huge wave approaching. All of a sudden Beck fell and took a tumble in the waves. I probably looked like a crazy woman, because I freaked out. It scared me more than it scared Beck. He didn't even cry.

Daddy & Beck playing in the ocean. Beck loved it!!!

Me & Beck took a spill in the water. Poor little guy go drenched.

I have to take pictures of myself, cause no one else will. :)

Playing in the water. The waves were so BIG. It was fun jumping over them. Beck thought it was so funny.

"You spend too much money"

So I found Beck these super cute Retro socks online. I love them. They had all different colors, and even really cute neon colors for girls. They came in a 5 pack, and they were $35. Now I don't think that's a bad deal, considering a 3 pack of socks at Carters was $12, and they weren't nearly as cute as these Retro socks. Tayler totally doesn't think they're worth $35, but they were just to cute to resist.

Beck discovered his nose.

Beck was pretty excited when he discovered he had nose holes. He sticks it so far up there, sometimes it looks like he's reached his brain. Every time he sticks his finger in his nose he giggles and says "Ew mom". He knows it's gross, but he still does it. Even though it's gross, you have to admit it's pretty funny!

Helping mom with the dishes...

Beck is my big helper. Mostly for making messes, but sometimes he decides to give me a break from the messes and help me out with the house work. He loves helping me vacuum, and clean the dishes.

Playing in the sink while I do the dishes.

He's a pro at vacuuming.

Car Show

Ok, so I have this thing for old cars. It would have been cool to live back in the 50's and drive a fancy Bel-Air, or live in the 80's and drive a cool muscle car. I just think cars now-a-days are super boring...

The 50's would have been such a fun era to live in.

Ha ha! My dad was making fun of how me and my mom posed next to some of the cars. My dad is Crazy!!!

Beck's got good taste in cars.

Beck's 1st Birthday

I can't believe I have a 1 year old already!!! He's grown up so fast. We threw him a birthday party. It was so much fun. We squeezed about 32 people in our small apartment. It was tight, but it worked. Beck had lots of fun too. He played with all of the kids, and got a bunch of fun presents. His favorite present was his BIG Rex dinosaur that grandma and grandpa Wayment gave him! He says "ROAR Rex", and Rex ROARS back.
I made him a 3 tier cake. Yeah, I know what you're thinking, "Why would you go through all of that trouble for a 1st birthday, he's not even going to remember it." I look at it as a 1st experience for me too. My 1st child is having his 1st birthday, why not make it special? I plan on making it a tradition for all of my kids. I really enjoyed doing it.

He didn't really get to messy with the cake. I was surprised!!!

So, this is the cake I made (With the help of my wonderful hubby).

Beck calls himself a "Cool Dude" when he wears his glasses.

Memories of 2010

Time must have wings. I can't believe another year has come and gone. It seems just like yesterday we brought our brand new baby home from the hospital. Now he's running around, and getting into everything. I love seeing him grow and learn new things. I just wish it all wouldn't happen so fast. I want life to go in slow motion for a little while. Thank goodness for camera's though. I don't know where I'd be without them. I can look back at all of the fun times we have had together. I'm looking forward for the next year and what it will bring....
